The 2,606 meter high Scaletta Pass connects the Val Susauna and the Dischmatal. There is an unattended refuge at the top of the pass.

In summer as in winter, the pass is popular with hikers and mountain bikers, there is a refuge at the top. Scaletta means “chicken ladder” in Italian, so it is not surprising that bikers have to push or carry for a while on the way up.

The Scaletta Pass at 2,605 meters is the transition from Davos in the Landwassertal through the Dischmatal to the neighboring Engadine. The transition is one of the biggest highlights on some Transalp routes - including on Andi Heckmair's original Transalp. Expect about an hour and a half of pushing from the Dürrbodenhütte and look forward to a great flowing single trail into Val Susauna. There is a very simple refuge at the pass, but it is not managed.
