Sertig-Dörfli is a small Walser settlement that still has a closed, well-preserved townscape, in a photogenic location in front of the Piz Ducan massif.

Side note: The little church is world famous, at least for people with a model railway background. It is perhaps one of the best-selling kits and probably adorns thousands of model railway layouts; there is hardly one without one.

The Sertig (1860 m) is a side valley of the Landwassertal near Davos in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland, through which the Sertigbach flows. The hamlets in the Sertig (Sertig Dörfli and Sand) and the associated farms form the Sertig neighborhood, which belongs to the Davos Frauenkirch fraction. The Clavadel neighborhood, located at the entrance to the Sertig, belongs to the Davos Platz fraction.

A narrow, low-traffic road runs through the valley, which is ideal for cycling tours. A post bus runs into the valley all year round. In Sertig Dörfli there is a listed reformed church, two restaurants, the "Bergführer" and the "Walserhuus" (Walserhaus), the latter is a modern mid-range hotel. From there you can hike north to a waterfall at the foot of the Sertig Pass.

Challenging mountain tours can also be undertaken from the Sertig Valley, for example via the Sertig Pass (2739 m above sea level) to Bergün/Bravuogn or into the Engadine. Another tour leads over the Sertig Pass and the Scaletta Pass to the parallel Dischma.

In winter, horse-drawn sleigh rides are offered from Davos-Platz train station to the Sertig Valley. There is also a cross-country ski trail through the valley.

Behind the Eggen: This has always been the name of the furthest section of the Sertig Valley, with its villages and sand, and anyone who reads the writings of Annemarie's late husband, Christian, once a National Councilor and Landammann of Davos, can delve deeply into Sertig's past. In the 13th century, the Barons of Vaz are said to have brought a dozen families from Valais to the Landwasser Valley in order to populate the area more densely – including the Sertig side valley. Over time, the isolated Walser farm settlements developed into so-called neighborhoods, one of which was "behind the Eggen." "When the little church was built in 1699," Annemarie recalls, "about 100 people lived here year-round. And the journey to Davos-Frauenkirch for church services was too far for them." So they raised money and built their own little church through forced labor. The Sertig landowners, organized in a cooperative, still own the private place of worship today.
