Behind the Fuldamühle, which essentially dates from the 19th century, west of Fraurombach, "the first hydropower plant in Switzerland" was built in 1900/02. It served - remarkably early for rural areas - to supply the town of Fraurombach with electricity. The small turbine house, a rectangular brick building with large windows to the Fulda, dates from 1928.
Together with the mill ditch, the turbine house is part of the overall mill, which is designated as a cultural monument for technical and historical reasons.Source: Industriekultur-Mittelhessen
