Hiking

The railway viaduct, over which the hiking trail leads, is one of the first bridges built in steel construction. The railway line connected Oberfrohna and Wüstenbrand from 1897 to 1951. According to reports, the rails were demanded by the then Soviet Union as reparations for war damage caused by Germany, which led to the closure of the railway line. The bridge miraculously remained standing. In 1986, the viaduct was placed under monument protection and subsequently used as a hiking trail.
