Great view over Limbach-Oberfrohna and Chemnitz. There are significantly fewer people out and about in the morning and the view and the nearby hut can be better enjoyed.

The name of the tower comes from the 1886 built predecessor tower. Maria Josefa was the daughter of the Saxon prince George. The new tower was built in 1998 and is 30 meters high. The view extends in good visibility in the south to the ridges of the Erzgebirge with Fichtelberg, Keilberg and Auersberg and in the north to Leipzig with the Battle of Nations monument as a striking point.

Nice view- I was told. I preferred to wait downstairs. Open lattice stairs are not for me.

The 30 meter high Maria Josepha tower from 1998 is the successor building of the predecessor tower of 1886.

At 483m in the middle of the Rabenstein Forest, the Totenstein is located. The name comes from the Middle Ages. Since the miners of that time found nothing right than just "dead rock", today's name Totenstein was derived.
In the picture you can see the directional radio tower now used by Telekom. In front of it on the left the locality "Meyer's Totenstein Alm", which unfortunately was / is more closed than open.
    What a pity....

A wonderful view of the Chemnitz area and the Ore Mountains. A must-see if you've ever been up on the Totenstein!
In good weather you can see the Fichtelberg and the Klinovec in the south. In the north, the large coal-fired power station Böhlen at the gates of Leipzig. With a good pair of binoculars, certainly one or the other structure in Leipzig :)

I would like to put it into words, but you have to go there yourself to admire our beautiful Ore Mountains from above. Maybe you will find the right words!
