Hardly any other fountain house has been looked after as well as the Popperöder fountain house in the centuries after its construction. After there had been a fountain festival in Mühlhausen since the beginning of the 17th century, the source of the Poppenröder Bach was framed and the adjoining house was built. A place that is still absolutely magical today.

The Popperode spring itself is nothing special. But the Popperode fountain house is a real eye-catcher. Together with the spring, it creates a great ensemble. The way the fountain house presents itself to the street is somewhat reminiscent of a stage.
There are a few events a year, such as the fountain festival and the acoustic evening. Of course, you can also get fresh water directly from the spring.
