On February 17, 1945, a passenger train on the Amberg - Lauterhofen railway line and Ursensollen station were attacked by low-flying aircraft. The then 12 year old Albert Augsberger was killed. A plaque at the station reminds of the attack. The bullet holes can still be seen on the toilet doors.
