Preveli Beach and Palm Forest

If you park at the Venetian bridge, you can also combine this beach with a short hike. It's best to have food with you, since the tavern isn't exactly cheap (but that's normal given the location). The fresh water is wonderfully refreshing and the palm trees speak for themselves.
Good shoes if you go upstream to maybe scramble a bit on the stones :-)

It was made famous by the '68 hippie generation and is considered the most beautiful beach of Crete. The unique attraction comes from the estuary, salt and fresh water mix here. The Sarnad can only be reached on foot or by boat.

You can drive from Plakias by boat (runs several times a day) and then hike back to Plakias. Hardly anyone does that, even in high season. Often you are alone on the trails!
