The Luther Linden tree was planted in memory of the church reformer Dr. Martin Luther, who was born 400 years ago on November 10, 1883. The parish of Neckartailfingen decided to plant a linden tree on the hill above the town to mark the occasion. The town council approved the funds to acquire the land and purchased it for 30 marks. The linden tree was brought from the Neckartailfingen forest, and several citizens transported approximately 30 cartloads of soil to ensure the tree would stand on solid ground.
