The Katschhof is a very well located place to take a nice photo of both the cathedral and the town hall opposite. All the numerous influencers who come here when the weather is nice can't be wrong.

The Katschhof is a centrally located, public square in the old town of Aachen . The name derives from Kaxhoff , later Kackshoff or according to Oppenhoff from Katzhoff , thus marking the place of the former pillory ( Katz , Kaks ). Between 1847 and 1902, the Katschhof was named in honor of the Aachen mayor Gerhard Chorus Chorusplatz , afterwards the old historical name and the leading street was given the name Ritter-Chorus-Straße . The location between Aachen Cathedral and the Aachen town hall as well as the building based on a medieval ground plan, it radiates a special atmosphere . Major events such as concerts, weekly markets, town festivals and the annual Aachen Christmas market take place here.
