The nature trail Flinthörn belongs to the Wadden Sea National Park. Here you can find all sorts of information about the biotope Wadden Sea. In addition, there is a lot of sea buckthorn growing here (as well as everywhere else on the island). Also a detour to the beach is possible!

Since 1963 the Flinthörn may not be entered all year round. An exception is the 1.5 km nature trail Flinthörn leading to an observation and information platform.
The illustrated information boards explain the habitats with their bird and plant species and are formulated in a simple and child-friendly way.

The clear destination is the Flinthörn, which we admired in the rain on the second day, but which is even more pleasant to visit in bright sunshine.
“The Flinthörn is an area in the southwest of the East Frisian island of Langeoog, whose name is derived from the two terms Flint (flint) and Hörn (flood hook). Since 1986, the Flinthörn has been part of the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park as a quiet zone (protection zone I). The area was previously designated as the “Flinthörn Nature Reserve” from 1963 onwards because of its outstanding nature conservation significance.”
We are not disappointed, two deer are waiting for us just behind the second sand curve, but they quickly flee. Once again we have the path to ourselves, only at the Flinthörn bird watching hut do we meet two or three people.
Apart from a thick garden spider that is fatally ensnaring a wasp, no other game appears.
