The Wawerner Rundfels, high above the Hammer Saarschleife, was previously of military importance because of its excellent foresight and circumspection and was therefore particularly clearly noted in one of the maps by Colonel Tranchot (1803-1813).
Today this rock pulpit has an outstanding name as one of the most beautiful vantage points in the Saar.
