"Moorblick" lookout point

The water surface referred to in rural parlance as "moor" is not a real raised bog in the true sense of the word as one finds in the high forest. Rather, it is a place from which the groundwater that flows underground from the slope of the Kümmerner mountain emerges and collects. In wet years and after heavy rainfall, it still fills with water. The water surface has been greatly decimated by partial filling. The moor has no above-ground drainage.
