The Rosstrappe is 403m above sea level. N. N. one of the smaller granite rocks on the edge of the Bodetal. However, it is not less spectacular because of its steep flank and offers a great view of the Hexentanzplatz and the Bodetal.
The Rosstrappe got its name from the white horse on which the princess Brunhilde fled from the giant Bodo. The steed jumped from the cliff to the opposite rock, the giant Bodo fell into the river and thus gave him his name: Bode.
The impression of the white horse should still be visible here in the rock.

This is not directly the Rosstrappe, but allows a great view of this. Perfect for the first photos or even when the Rosstrappe itself is a bit overcrowded.

The view from the Rosstrappe is definitely worth a hike !!! If you do not feel like hiking up there, you can also use the chairlift very comfortably! The stamping station HWN 71 can then be pressed on a path right into its stamping position 😉

It is even further to the Roßtrappe. However, the stamp office itself is brought forward to the intersection with the chute. The chute has been closed for some time.

A visit to the Rosstrappe is a must when you are in Tale Station. Although it is an absolute tourist center, but the view of the valley is really worthwhile. At the exit of the Bodetal valley near Thale is the fabled Roßtrappe, a prominent granite rock with a height of 403 meters above sea level. The southern foothills of the Roßtrappenberg towers far into the Bodetal and drops there at the last big loop of the Bode almost vertically about 200 meters into the depth.Source: harzlife.de/tip/ross.html
