The route via Ortisei up to Geiersnest or to Kaltwasserhof and Eduardshöhe is an absolute premium road! Since it is a dead end for motor vehicles, there is a pleasant calm, the climb is sporty but not too steep and offers shady sections through the forest in the lower part and beautiful views over the Black Forest, Schönberg and out into the Rhine valley up to the upper part over to the Vosges. You can cycle down the paved road to the Eckhof in the direction of Horben, or take the steep, steep ascent to the Kaltwasserhof to Eduardshöhe and also down to Horben. If you are not afraid of a gravel section, you can still head to the Schauinsland summit via the wooden racket mat.
