Sunny high plateau with lookout tower. The Ludwig Keller Tower has stood on the Geishöhe since 1937 and was built by the Spessartbund in honor of the Gymnasium Professor Ludwig Keller. You have a great 360 ° view over Spessart, Rhön, Odenwald and Taunus. In ideal conditions you can see the skyline of Frankfurt and behind the Feldberg im Taunus.

When the weather is nice, wonderful views which make the ascent from Dammbach over the Geishöhe worthwhile. At Geishöhe you can also have a drink or two and feast on good food. 😀

The ascent to the Geisshöhe over the old way to school is very nice and lovingly created. The Passion plays are certainly worth a try again.

The Ludwig Keller tower stands on the summit of the 521 meter high Geishöhe. 60 steps lead to an observation deck (in good weather) with a great all-round view of the Spessart, Odenwald, Taunus and Rhön. Built in 1936 and 1937, renovated in 2003. The client was the Spessartbund, one of its chairmen was Ludwig Keller.

In the winter months, the tower is unfortunately not accessible. When it is "exactly" opened, was not disclosed.

The highest settlement in the Spessart is at Geißhöhe. At non-Corona times, an inn with regional cuisine (and cakes!) Invites you to linger.

There is no view from most of the Spessart's elevations, as they are forested and / or the surrounding area is barely towered over. This is different with the Geißhöhe. The wide plateau is a meadow and pasture landscape and the surrounding mountain ranges are easy to see.

From the platform of the Ludwig Keller observation tower you have an impressive panoramic view in good weather! The climb up the stairs is neither too narrow nor too long. So if you are already here you should also go up: o)

The all-round view is of course perfect from the observation tower. But even from below, the surrounding mountain ranges can be clearly seen. The Geißhöhe is therefore a special feature in the Spessart, because there is no view from most of the elevations, as they are forested or hardly stand out from the surrounding area.
