The church was first mentioned in a document in 1283 as the property of the Wildgrafen and Rheingrafen zu Dhaun.
The tower, in which two late Gothic bells hang, was added in the 15th century.
The choir room was built in the 16th century. The pulpit dates from the 17th century.
The "Stumm organ" built by Friedrich Carl Stumm in 1782 is a treasure.

The church was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century as the property of the Wildgraves and Rhinegraves of Dhaun, whose ancestral castle "Schloss Dhaun" is only 3 km away.
Outwardly simple, inside with its 22 grave monuments it forms a gallery of the regional history of a Hunsrück noble family and the art of sculpture.
