The Three Brothers Rocks on Rudolfstein are an impressive demonstration of the power of nature. Through weathering, the granite masses have been finely honed over millennia and are now forming a work of art that often reminds of stacked mattresses. So get out of bed and marvel at mattress weathering in reality.

The Drei Brüder Felsen are three mighty granite rocks standing side by side in the Hoher Fichtelgebirge. They belong to the Rudolfstein and are located at an altitude of 840 meters.

Here you are standing 285 million years ago of the earth's history. The idiosyncratic shape was created as follows: Hot, liquid magma solidified beneath the surface of the earth. The resulting rock was so pressurized from the earth's crust that longitudinal joints formed. Cross joints were then added by erosion.
The first two brothers are particularly impressive, the third is a bit hidden. Some of the towers can be climbed.
