These former valley slopes were once impact zones of the melt water, which came from the melting glacier near Lübeck.
There is a parking lot on the southern part of the trail that I have highlighted as a highlight and a rest area almost on the northern part.

What drives the Hamburg Botanical Society to get involved in looking after the eastern slopes of the Delvenau Valley in the Duchy of Lauenburg district? The reason lies in the uniqueness of these warm, species-rich dry locations, which prompted the Botanical Society and its then first chairman Franz Elmendorff to take excursions here by train, bus and bicycle 86 years ago. The NSG "Tal slopes near Göttingen" is a very special and great landscape. The E6 long-distance hiking trail also runs through here.
