Tips
Between the Landestheater am Rosental and the "Bruchberg" (well, a small hump in the city topography) you can see a remnant of the former moat around the Detmold Castle (originally a medieval moated castle). There are nice places to stay here. You can usually find a pair of black swans on the water. If you have some time, you should visit the Lippisches Landesmuseum.
