The Suworow Bridge is located on the "old road" built in 1770 from Schwyz via Ibach to Muotathal. Originally, the Muota was crossed by the "Steinig Brügg" 30 meters above the location of the Suworow Bridge. In 1799, the Steinig Brügg was badly damaged during the French invasion of Switzerland, so in 1810 a covered wooden bridge 20 meters long and five meters wide was built as a replacement. From then on, it was called the Suworow Bridge in memory of the Russian general who had to flee to the Muotathal eleven years earlier while being pursued by the French.
