In 1614 the Breitenbauch family acquired
Georg August von Breitenbauch had an existing castle demolished from 1714 to 1718 and instead built the baroque castle that still exists on the site of the castle. Until the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone in 1945, this remained in the family ownership of the Breitenbuch family. Today it is privately owned again.
