One of a compact group of Munros to the north of Loch Cluanie, Càrn Ghluasaid is a mountain of contrasting sides. Its formidable northern flanks drop to Coire Sgreumh in a series of broken crags, while its rather featureless southern aspect is a little gentler, allowing adventurers more straightforward access to the heights. On this side of the mountain, just a little further west, is the legendary Cluanie Inn where you can seek accommodation. There are other options further on around Loch Duich.
Càrn Ghluasiad’s expansive stony plateau is usually reached from the south, where a good stalkers path provides a pleasant ascent towards the summit. Munro baggers will probably want to continue beyond Càrn Ghluasaid to bag the higher pair of Sgùrr nan Conbhairean and Sail Chaorainn to the north.
From the top, the South Glen Shiel Ridge stretches away to the west, with The Saddle, the region’s most iconic peak, seen beautifully beyond.
Carn Ghluasaid, a Munro mountain of 957m sits fairly close to the A87, next to Loch Cluanie. A good path leads up from the road. It's a great vantage point to enjoy the south Glen Shiel Munros and also look along the many mountains that make up the north Glen Shiel ridge.

This munro is very easy to walk up to, very good quality path that never really gets steep and if it does there is very nice zigzag to help you.
