On the initiative of the Heimatverein Vorhelm, a memorial station for the strontianite mining in Vorhelm, which ended 125 years ago, was erected in 2016 on the site of the former shaft "Alwine". The mine was in operation for just eleven years from June 1880 to October 1891 and reached a considerable maximum depth of 112 meters. The shaft "Alwine" was thus the deepest strontianite mine in Münsterland.
