When the old bridge was demolished, the central arch was welded out, extensively restored and erected near the old bridge crossing. A memorial stone reminds of the old bridge.
The appearance of the town had changed significantly: up to the new bridge, all buildings south of Illingerstraße towards Enz were demolished, including the old schoolhouse.
The old bridge was the "town center", Mühlackerstrasse leads to the west (today the numbering of the houses), Illingerstrasse to the east, and Pinacherstrasse to the south.
