The world's largest floating stage in Bregenz, Austria, the venue for the Bregenz Festival, which takes place annually in July and August, is also a worthwhile destination outside the festival season. Fun fact: in 2008 filming for the James Bond film “A Quantum of Solace” took place here.

  • Especially because of the elaborate stage sets on the island in the lake, the productions here are always an experience.Partly accessible outside of the season, which is what Hinrich is when you're on a photo tour.

  • You have to love the Bregenz Festival - or not.Important:
Even if it rains continuously, the performance runs on the lake stage from the start (only if there is a storm warning in the Festspielhaus) and the grandstand and stage are not covered.
    By the way:
Anyone wondering where the orchestra is located will find it in the orchestra pit in the Festspielhaus. From there, the conducting of the conductor and the sound of the orchestra are transmitted to the floating stage.

  • The Bregenz Festival is a lake festival held annually in July and August in the Vorarlberg state capital of Bregenz, Austria. The main attraction for a large number of visitors is the play on the lake on the world's largest lake stage. The festival is known for the beauty of the natural backdrop of Lake Constance, oversized stage sets, technical showpieces and unique acoustics, which are achieved using Bregenz directional hearing technology. Elisabeth Sobotka has been the director of the Bregenz Festival since January 2015, Michael Diem is the commercial director, Susanne Schmidt is the opera director and Olaf A. Schmitt is the dramaturge. In 2004, for example, the program of the Bregenz Festival included around 80 events, which were attended by over 215,000 spectators. The resident orchestra of the festival is the Wiener Symphoniker.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bregenzer_Festspiele

  • The Bregenz Festival achieves what all other festivals and theaters promise: they also inspire people for the opera who are otherwise not outspoken fans of classical music. The spectacular lake stage on Lake Constance offers an atmospheric natural backdrop for the 6,659 visitors to the open-air stage. Last year all performances were sold out - despite Corona!
