The Ferdinand stone is reminiscent of the last free-living wolf, which was killed by Count Ferdinand to Stolberg-Wernigerode and is located on Schindelstieg above Ilsenburg.

Just great. Although there is not much to see here, but it is very peaceful and quiet because not too many hikers get lost here.

For me, the Ferdinand stone is one of the most beautiful stamps of the Harzer hiking nobility. The place radiates an incredible peace. A hike from Ilseburg over the Heinrich-Heine-Weg and Schindelstieg over the Ferdinand stone and back over the Plesseburg and the Ilsestein is one of my favorite rounds in the Harz: anwolf.blog/2019/02/17/ilsetal-und-ferdinandsstein -lieblingsrunden-in-resin /

It is advisable to use the signposted paths. Other paths sometimes lead to quite adventurous regions. Currently, some paths are also inaccessible due to the wind break and logging.
May 11, 2021
I don't understand why the flap of the stamp box was turned to face the prevailing wind direction.
