So I don't need a lot of imagination to imagine that we have a kind of great frog in front of us. A petrified ancestor of "Kermit the Frog"!

The frog rock is actually a huge rock that looks like a frog.

Then we wondered if it might be a huge frog that just looks like a rock - and went all the way along quickly.

The Froschfelsen, also called Froschsteinklippe, in the Harz is a natural monument near Ilsenburg in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt.
It is a formation of granite rocks that have the shape of a sitting frog.
The frog rock is located in the northern part of the Hochharz in the Harz National Park, southwest of Ilsenburg.
It is located a little to the southwest below the summit of the Meineberg (544.5 m above sea level), which rises northwest of the Ilse, at about 515 m above sea level. NN.
The frog rock is included as No. 5 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin; the stamping point is in a nearby refuge.

The frog rock is a striking and more than five meters high rock formation, above Ilsenburg in the area of the Harz National Park. You can reach it very well on the bark beetle path, here is also the stamp 09 of the Harzer hiking nobility. The rock reminds with a little imagination of an oversized jumping frog, or as some say more like a turtle, just the imagination knows no bounds.

Stamp office of the Harzer hiking nobility with a refuge and a great rock formation which I unfortunately could not hold on account of the heavy passenger traffic

Great hiking destination and with imagination you can also recognize it.
There are several ways up. Good, steep, very steep or climbing paths.
