So I don't need a lot of imagination to imagine that we have a kind of great frog in front of us. A petrified ancestor of "Kermit the Frog"!

The frog rock is actually a huge rock that looks like a frog.

Then we wondered if it might be a huge frog that just looks like a rock - and went all the way along quickly.

The frog rock is a striking and more than five meters high rock formation, above Ilsenburg in the area of the Harz National Park. You can reach it very well on the bark beetle path, here is also the stamp 09 of the Harzer hiking nobility. The rock reminds with a little imagination of an oversized jumping frog, or as some say more like a turtle, just the imagination knows no bounds.

I still think it looks like a turtle but okay. Should it continue to be called Frog Rock. It remains beautiful regardless of what you see in it.

On the one hand there is the stamping point no. 20 meters away. 5 of the Harzerwandernadel, directly in the refuge, on the other hand, the frog rock is indeed a popular hiking destination. Even in various reading is described, that one needs a lot of imagination to interpret a frog here. In my opinion, the middle part resembles more the head of a turtle and I could not recognize a frog even after a long observation.
