The former wild boar hut stood on the site of PWV Ritterstein No. 50. It was a hut where the boar hunters and forest workers had a rest. The Ritterstein is maintained and kept in order by the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV).

The Ritterstein is located on the so-called "Kuhpfad" (= hiking trail Hermersbergerhof - Hinterweidenthal; path marking "blue-red"), directly on a path marker.
There are no remains of the former hut.
