Various fortifications can still be seen on the strategically important mountain almost 100 years after the war. From 1914 to 1915, this sector blocked the passage between Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Murten. The main purpose of this “Réduit” was to prevent enemies from moving forward after losing a position. It also facilitated the continued resistance of the withdrawn troops and made it possible to regain lost positions by opening the fire.
