Cycling
The road is well paved to Bad Antogast and little traffic. The last 3 kilometers continue on gravel and wide forest paths. Not recommended with the racing bike, for everyone else a nice and sporty challenging route.

Gravel riding
The paved road is wonderfully quiet and has a top-quality surface. The beautiful surroundings make you forget how steep the climb is. Once you reach the top of the Breitmatthof, it's worth taking a look back down into the valley.
The gravel road that follows is quite challenging. Although it's medium-coarse, it's quite loose and washed out in places, making you constantly fight for grip. The consistent 9-12% gradient seems all the harder – but stopping isn't an option, otherwise you'd have a hard time getting back in the saddle 😅
