Here it is always worth watching the birds on the water with binoculars. Today we had e.g. seen a pygmy diver. 🤩

Small but nice. It was well overgrown.

The lapwing bog is a small moor area that is very suitable for watching water birds.

The Kiebitzmoor lies on a geest plateau in the marginal area of the young moraine landscape. The small moored valley borders the Tonradskoppel in the north. The Tonradskoppel is a compression moraine left by the advance of the Weichselian ice to northern Germany. The formation of the adjacent hollow form is probably due to the fact that glacier ice (dead ice) that has become inactive has been run over in the marginal zone of the Weichselian glacier and has been covered with sediment. When the ice was later thawed out, a water-filled depression remained, which partly silted up during the Holocene and in which the lapwing moor developed.hamburg.de/geotourismus-geologie/145072/kiebitzmoor-start
