    former Heidekrautbahn station

    Translated by Google •

      Blankenfelde train station
The Heidekrautbahn was built in 1901. The route went from Reinickendorf (Wilhelmsruh) via Blankenfelde to Basdorf. There the railway branched off in two directions - to Liebenwalde and to Groß-Schönebeck,
The name Heidekrautbahn comes from the fact that many Berliners use the train for a trip to Schorfheide.

The railway had to briefly stop operating after the Second World War, but the first trains ran again on June 13, 1945. The closure of the borders brought about major changes. On November 9, 1961, the trains ended in Schildow.
After installing a switch and a U-turn option, the railway later ended in Blankenfelde. The workers from VEB Bergmann Borsig were then transported by bus from Blankenfelde to the industrial area.
The train was at km 4.6 at Bahnhofsstr. 10 a breakpoint. A red clicked reception building was built here. This is still well preserved today.

The building has been operated as a bar since the 1930s. From March 1961 the building became the cultural space of the Wilhelmsruh train station. After the wall was built, the train station was right in the border area and was inhabited by a Siebert family. After reunification, the house was bought and renovated.

Former cemetery where victims of the Second World War were buried. but today they are resettled in the cemetery at the Bürgerpark. This cemetery was dedicated.
