Impressive tower with seating for resting. The narrow building with its 72 steps, which was built in 1904 in honor of the participants of the Franco-German War, has established itself as a landmark of Lonsheim. It is open day and night and offers a great view over the Rhenish Hessian hills

The base plate above the foundation is 266.7m above sea level. Going over the 72 external steps 4.48m high, then continue on the inner spiral staircase, you reach the observation deck with crenellated edge in 284.47m above sea level. The spiral staircase is protected by a rain shelter, which at 289m above sea level gives the highest point. Source: lonsheim.net
