This quarry can be easily reached by bike without having to go up the steep ascent to the Mauthausen concentration camp. From here you can walk up the death stairs. Unfortunately, the access to the stairs is now (June 2021) blocked off with a grille due to the lack of "modern safety standards". Quite a strange argument in a place where people have been deliberately put to death.
Fortunately, you can easily walk past the bars and climb the stairs in peace and quiet, thinking about the many murdered here.
I think this place is particularly suitable for thoughtful remembrance.

Death staircase: An 11-hour working day under the supervision of a kapo in the quarries was fatal. A prisoner who collapsed on the so-called death staircase under the weight of the heavy stones was plunged down the steep walls of the quarry, the "parachuting" in SS jargon.

I don't know - a cyclist in front of the Stairs of Death (photo by Martin T.) - ridden or pushed - it doesn't matter - a bicycle has no place in a place like this!!!
Here, where so many people have lost their lives... - I would never push a bicycle across a cemetery either.
The quarry is a place of remembrance and devotion that deserves to be treated with respect.
