Dattenfeld Castle, a fortified house dating from 1629, was built between 1619 and 1629 by Jacob Robens, who was court clerk in Dattenfeld. Today you can get married there in a civil ceremony :-). It can also be visited, but is currently closed. In my opinion, very worth seeing!

The castle Dattenfeld is a fortified house in Windecker part Dattenfeld.

Originally Dattenfeld Castle was a feudal rectory, built by pastor Johann Robens, who previously lived in Rossel. From him come extensive records from the Thirty Years' War. The square core of the castle complex was built between 1619 and 1629 and was later extended by several additions and conversions. The weather vane of the house shows the year 1629. Due to the modifications to the house and through the turreted outer wall, the plant looks like a manor.

Change of ownership at Castle Dattenfeld in Windeck-Dattenfeld: The company boss and restaurant operator Axel Schönfelder from Sankt Augustin has bought the historic building with 600 square meters of living space. The Rhein-Sieg-Anzeiger reports. The seller was Franz-Josef Wernze, who was 69 at the time.
