The first brick chapel was built around 1850. In 1857, the communities of Anzendorf, Schallaburg and Steinparz (now all of the Schollach castral communities) committed themselves to building and maintaining a chapel. In 1874, permission was granted to celebrate Holy Mass on six memorial days. Today, the pilgrimage church is looked after by the Loosdorf parish.

It is a neo-Gothic church with a gable roof, the facade of which is structured by the buttress pillars with a pent roof and pointed arched windows.

The pilgrimage church is located on the Hiesberg, a ridge in the Dunkelsteinerwald. It is located in the settlement of the same name, which is now part of the community of Schollach and is about two kilometers south of the Schallaburg.

When exactly the place of pilgrimage came into being in Steinparz is not documented. Since no miracles have been handed down, the remote, quiet environment could be a good prerequisite for contemplation and reflection. Originally there was a picture beech tree with a picture of the Virgin Mary attached to its branches. The first brick chapel was built around 1850.
