Between the Thuringian villages of Wehnde and Tastings in Eichsfeld lies the Wehnder Warte. It was built around 1430 for protection between the Bodenstein and the city of Duderstadt. It was also known as the "Feuerhakenwarte" or "Neue Warte". Today it is a vantage point from which you can see far into the country.

Hiking

The Wehnder Warte, restored in 1996, was built in 1413 on the basis of the contract between Martin von Worbis or his brother Hannes and the city of Duderstadt to secure the former trading town and Bodenstein Castle in the nearby Ohm Mountains.
