The view over the IJssel is beautiful, the bike path next to the road over the bridge is more necessary than relaxing.

Cycling over the water is next to the A12, one of the busiest motorways in the Netherlands. It is never quiet. (Spring 2022, one of the oldest bridge sections, the southernmost one, will be restored. In the summer of 2022, it will be the turn of the slightly more northern bridge. The cabins and cars will then be located there. The steel bridges were not designed for the current large and heavy traffic. ) When the flyover was not yet in place, the two southern bridges were the only ones and all traffic passed over them.
If you look closely you will see that there is a bend, a bump, in the northern bridge (east side). They were built there because the old bridges had sagged somewhat in that location. This was what they wanted to prevent with the new bridge. But the new bridge never collapsed and kept the bump!
For repairs and maintenance, all lanes have been narrowed and moved slightly to the north. The speed limit to 90 km/h has also become necessary due to these narrowings.
I regard the cycle path as a necessary evil and am also happy that it is there. The busy traffic rushes past you and the guardrail between you and the traffic protects you.
The water below you is the IJssel and branches off the Nederrijn just further south. From east to north: Rhein - Upper Rhine - Bijlandskanaal which branches into Waal and Pannerdenskanaal. At some point this will become the Lower Rhine, which will branch out a little further
Lower Rhine and (Gelderse) IJssel. Oh those Dutch, they don't make it easy. (or is it the Gelders, everything takes place in the province of Gelderland). Much of this confusion has to do with the fact that the waterways in this area are 'all over' and/or newly dug. (The IJssel branched off from the Rhein in Germany a long time ago and flowed north via Doetinchem. The water near Doetinchem is called 'the Oude IJssel')
This is also the case in Rotterdam, where the water is called 'the Nieuwe Maas', but through which hardly any Maas water passes and a lot of Rhine water does.
