The beautiful forest paths along the Hartsee repeatedly offer views of the Hartsee. The lake can be walked all the way around. It is a beautiful bathing lake. There is a beautiful bathing area with several jetties right near Eggstätt.

The circular route around the lake is worthwhile, with the exception of the small stretch of the road in the north. The detours to other lakes on small paths are even more worthwhile.
