Mining again. Ore mining again. It's amazing how meticulously our ancestors searched the whole of Siegerland for mineral resources. Sometimes more, sometimes less successful.
June 29, 2020
It was found by Mr. Adolf Schmelzer in the NRW State Archives in Münster.
The miner family Friedrich Otto from Niederunglinghsusen and their relatives started mining in the upper Langenbach valley in the border area of Unglinghausen and Herzhausen in 1883 after promising ore analyzes. According to the protocol, however, the actual inventions were moderate. The annual final reports to the Mining Authority still end "no ore finds". The patience of the miners and the mining in the Langenbach valley ended on April 26th, 1910. The mine was closed after a good 27 years.
