Road Cycling Highlight
November 4, 2018The new Nibelungen Bridge also connects the Rhineland-Palatinate city of Worms via the Rhine with the Hessian cities of Lampertheim and Bürstadt. Due to strong growth in traffic and the need to renovate the "old" Nibelungen Bridge, the foundation stone was laid in 2005 for the second, parallel Rhine bridge a few meters upstream. The "new" Nibelungen Bridge, like the "old" bridge, was built in cantilever construction and has the same dimensions as the old overlap.
On the current "new" bridge, the four lanes with the passing traffic lead out of Worms. The crossing also has a combined pedestrian and cycle path. 🚴♂️• Design: prestressed concrete box girder bridge
