Park on the French side of the Rhine - you can also cross over to Kehl via the pedestrian / bicycle bridge in the middle of the park.

THE GARDEN OF THE TWO BANKS: BORDER AREA BETWEEN STRASBOURG AND KEHL
The bridge between Strasbourg and Kehl connects the two gardens on either side of the Rhine, a place where children, cyclists and walkers set the tone.

It began on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Council of Europe in 1999 with an installation by the Strasbourg city councilor Michel Krieger on the Europa Bridge. For the spiritual father of the Garden of Two Shores, the historic Rhine should no longer separate, but connect. With the opening of the Garden of Two Shores on the occasion of the cross-border garden show Kehl/Strasbourg in 2004, his dream came true.

The backbone of the 150-acre park is a cross-border loop trail that blurs national lines by incorporating them into the landscaping.

      SYMBOLIC BRIDGE OVER THE RHINE
After the Franco-German jury decided in favor of the design by the German landscape architect Rüdiger Brosk, the French architect Marc Mimram was awarded the contract for the construction of the Rhine bridge. Its double bridge with two footbridges, spanned by 76 cables, is an aesthetic edifice intended as a dividing line between two peoples with different histories. In the middle of the pedestrian and cyclist bridge, both bridges meet on a large platform about twelve meters above the Rhine. In a way, it forms the heart of the Garden of Two Shores and offers a wide view over the Rhine.
