Schreiberhau, whose place name refers to the medieval clearing, was first mentioned in 1366 as Schribirshau and in 1372 referred to as Schreibershow. It belonged to the Duchy of Schweidnitz-Jwor, which came under the Crown of Bohemia in 1368.
