The Meckenbeuren – Tettnang railway line - originally the Meckenbeuren – Tettnang local railway - was a 4.2 km long branch line in Baden-Württemberg. It was the first electrified standard-gauge railway with passenger and freight traffic in Germany. The railway opened on December 4, 1895 was built and initially operated by the private Lokalbahn Aktien-Gesellschaft in Munich; after its liquidation, it was nationalized in 1938. The Deutsche Bundesbahn ceased passenger transport in 1976, and in 1996 the line was completely shut down by the Deutsche Bahn AG.
