Right around the corner from the ruins there is a lovely spot with benches and a grill. Here you can sit down in the shade of the ruins and spend a lovely afternoon.

Helmbund was the predecessor town of Neuenstadt am Kocher. It was first mentioned in a document in 797 in the Lorsch Codex as "Helmanabiunde", which means something like "Herrenhof der Helmana". The city existed until about the middle of the 14th century and was given up in favor of Neuenstadt ("Helmbund die neue Stadt"?).
The remainder of the church tower and choir was destroyed in the 30 Years War and originally built under Konrad von Weinsberg and Rüdiger von Weiler in the 12th century. Until 1636 the church yard surrounding the ruins was the burial place for Neuenstadt and Cleversulzbach. Remembrance services continued in the church until 1790. Nobles from the region were buried in the crypt until the 18th century.

Ruin of a lost settlement from the Middle Ages, which was first mentioned in 797. There is a barbecue area and plenty of seating.
