In 1779, the couple Johannes Massolle and Anna Maria Bungenstock erected a wayside shrine on the Hungerberg, where a service was celebrated once a year.
In 1833, the Kingdom of Prussia built station no. 30 of the optical telegraph line from Berlin to Koblenz on the Hungerberg.
In 1851, today's chapel of St. Peter and Paul was built on the foundations of the now abandoned telegraph station.
During the Christmas season 🎄 there is even a crib set up in the chapel 👼. I think that's really great! 👍
