The National Museum of Western Art, designed by the renowned Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier, has more than 6,000 sculptures and paintings from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. It is the only national museum in Tokyo that focuses exclusively on western artists and has works by Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Rubens and Van Gogh. The art alone is impressive enough, but the architecture and the grounds of the museum are also extremely impressive.
