The Homecoming Memorial Church of St. Norbert, Friedland, was built in 1955, the foundation stone was laid on September 2, 1954 and already on December 18, 1955 - on the 4th Advent the church was consecrated by Cardinal Joseph Frings from Cologne. In 1956 the tower with a belfry was built. On December 18, 1956 - exactly one year after the church consecration, the 3 bells could also be consecrated. The building order, which was founded by the Premonstratensian Father Werenfried von Straaten, regularly sent journeymen to Friedland who took on a significant part in the construction of the church.
