The Christ Church was built in the time of Torgelow's development as an iron foundry site.
The neo-Gothic brick building was built between 1882 and 1884 in place of the wooden church burned down in the Thirty Years' War, which is reminiscent of a part of a baptismal font made of sandstone (1624). The colored glass windows in the chancel are decisive for the spatial impression inside the church. In December 1999 the church inaugurated a new ringing made of bronze bells. The organ of the church was manufactured in 1890 by the Mehmel organ building company in Szczecin.
